As an avid Star Wars fan with a love / hate relationship with the prequels, I both loved and hated Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

There was one very important thing I felt was missing from the film... the moment of Anakin's fall to the Dark Side.

Yes, he slices of Mace Windu's hand but then laments "What have I done?" Following which he hastily pledges himself to Palpatine and then marches on the Jedi Temple.

There is a big leap from that to the senseless slaughter of innocent younglings. These kids could not have had anything to do a "Jedi Plot" to overthrow the Senate and I cannot believe that Anakin would think their murder was included in Palpatine's mandate to kill the Jedi. Jedi, Padawans, and Younglings are all referred to seperately in the prequels.

Anakin wasn't a bad guy... he just wanted to save his wife. Killing children is more than a little off the path.

And so Anakin's fall to the Dark Side has to have happened while he fought the Jedi in the temple... a moment which is NOT chronicled in the film.

I decided to write The Fall to illustrate the moment of Anakin's descent into darkness. In order to make it more dynamic I took the artistic liberty of bringing in Mace Windu to contast Mace's ability to repel darkness against Anakin's failure to do so.
